The Sounds of Summer Fest features up-and-coming New York City artists curated across genres over two days in June and August. On August 9, the series continues with CILLA, 79.5, Juice, and Pom Pom Squad. Don’t miss an evening full of live music, free giveaways, and delicious snacks. Currently on the come up, Cilla has found her way to some of NYC’s most famous stages, including the Gramercy Theatre, METLIFE, Radio City Music Hall, and many more. Cilla is currently in studio preparing for her summer 2022 project.79.5New York City-based 79.5 was started in 2010 by singer-songwriter and composer Kate Mattison. They announced their debut album, Predictions, in 2018 via Billboard Magazine, which was described as “Energetic and infectious... a unique, yet easy to listen to experience.” Early 2019 saw the addition of singer-songwriter and rapper Lola Adanna (Naomi Shelton &amp; The Gospel Queens) to the lineup, which became a bright new chapter for founding member Mattison and longtime 79.5 saxophonist and flautist, Izaak Mills. Current lineup also includes Caito Sanchez (Charles Bradley) on drums and Andrew Raposo (Midnight Magic, Hess Is More) on bass.JuiceBlending rock, pop, R&amp;B, and hip-hop, Juice embraced the diversity of their signature sound early on. The band— Ben Stevens (vocals), Christian Rose (violin, vocals), Kamau Burton (vocals, acoustic guitar), Daniel Moss (guitar), Michael Ricciardulli (guitar), Rami El-Abidin (bass), and Miles Clyatt (drums)— formed in 2014 in Boston while attending college. After graduating, the band recorded and released their first professional EP, 2018’s Workin’ on Lovin’. Reflecting on their touring and coming to terms with a new phase of life, Juice gathered their collective experiences into their 2019 EP, you are simply magnificent. The band&#x27;s upcoming single is entitled “DiCaprio (Love Me All the Time).&quot; Pom Pom Squad Mia Berrin first played under the moniker Pom Pom Squad in 2015 after moving to New York to study acting at NYU—though she soon transferred to the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music—and it was at those early gigs that she linked up with Shelby Keller (drums), Mari Alé Figeman (bass), and Alex Mercuri (guitar). The group cut their teeth playing packed Brooklyn apartments, but they quickly graduated to packed Brooklyn venues alongside artists like Soccer Mommy, Adult Mom, and Pronoun. Following the release of their sophomore EP Ow, Pom Pom Squad released the album Death of a Cheerleader in 2021. All Columbia University ID holders may register to attend.
