SEA of Visibility Integrated Arts Education

SEA of Visibility Integrated Arts Education embraces BIPOC, immigrant, queer and disabled artists and allies, focusing on neurodiversity and mental health. It “Supports Expression through the Arts” (SEA) and promotes integration through education.

Every teen loves their own story. During this enrichment program with Ama Yawson from Milestales, students will learn the fundamental elements of storytelling and publishing. They will learn key story elements such as protagonist, antagonist, rising action, climax, and falling action. They will determine the social justice-related problem that their characters face and the creative solutions that their characters will employ to solve the social justice challenges and create a better world.Public funding provided by Suffolk County.*Class must have minimum 5 students to run. It provides peer and professional support and offers coping and compensatory strategies for its participants, helping to create art that broadens the greater community’s vision of what mental illness is.
