'Conversations of Home' Walking Tour and Workshop

The New York Art Residency and Studios (NARS) Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit arts organization committed to supporting artists and curators on an international level as well engaging the local community in Brooklyn and the Greater New York area. NARS provides an array of creative support services and professional development opportunities for emerging and mid-career artists through short-term integrated residency programs, progressive exhibition programs, international exchanges, and engaging public programs that foster global understanding and dynamic cross-cultural dialogues. These services operate in conjunction with our community outreach initiatives to promote greater accessibility to contemporary art for the under-served local community in south Brooklyn. Our mission is to present diverse platforms on which to nurture creative inspiration and innovative cross-pollination of ideas.

Please join artists Francis Estrada and Mic Diño Boekelmann for a public program in conjunction with the exhibition 'Conversations of Home'.

Nolan Park

On June 12, starting at 3pm at Nolan Park 5B, Francis Estrada will lead visitors on an informal walkabout tour of the Island, including Pershing hall, to discuss the Island&#x27;s military history vis a vis the Philippines, and Mic Diño Boekelmann will lead a workshop at the NARS House (Nolan Park 5B) where participants will learn how to make paper flower cut outs, which they will be encouraged to either take home or add to the Manila envelope installation inside.

All ages are welcome to attend!
