RobotX and Startups Greater Asia have partnered together for this event and is excited to invite you to our Corporate Venture Panel Discussion & AI Startup Demo Day in Silicon Valley on June 8th. The event will kick off with pitch presentations and product displays/demos from seven selected AI startups then hear from Baidu Ventures, Sony Innovation Fund, Verizon Ventures and Arcis Capital on how to get corporate investment and successfully build strategic partnerships. Other startups and investors from US and Asia will also be in attendance so come and network!

Discussion Topics:
1) How can startups better attract and maintain corporate interest? 2) Etiquette and advice on juggling relationships with different corporate departments. 3) How do corporate development teams and corporate venture teams work? 4) How do corporations decide whether to buy or invest? 5) Common reasons why startup-corporate partnerships don't work out.
 Ideally, startups-corporate partnerships combine the best of both worlds. Corporations provide resources greatly needed by startups while startups provide new culture and tech innovations to rejuvenate corporations. Successful partnerships can mean survival for the startup and "smart $" that all startups need, while the relationship can open up opportunities in an entire market segment/business line/industry to the corporation (think Oculus-Facebook, Jet-Walmart, ARM-Softbank). Though these partnerships may be time-consuming and difficult to build, the rewards are worthwhile.
