Who this anywhere service project is for: Ages 6 - 12+Not sure if this project is the right fit for your kids? Email us with questions at programs@seedsofcaring.org What you'll be doing: Families will drive their own vehicles to pick up meals from <a href="https://www.lifecarealliance.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">LifeCare Alliance</a> and deliver them to approximately 10 homebound Meals-on-Wheels clients. Delivery routes are in a variety of neighborhoods around Franklin County, including higher-need areas, with a typical route taking 1.5 - 2 hours to complete. This is a hands-on and face-to-face volunteer experience. Children will assist parents with deliveries and are invited to make cheer cards to give to the homebound seniors receiving mealsNOTE: Seeds of Caring event leaders and staff will NOT be present during meal pick up or delivery.When you'll be doing it:The Seeds of Caring team delivers meals every Sunday morning at 10:30am or 11:00am. Once registered and trained, families will have the opportunity to sign up for a route that fits their schedule. Families should allow approximately 2 hours for deliveries. Families on our team typically deliver meals 4-6 times a year.How it all works:1. Complete this Eventbrite registration.2. Your Eventbrite confirmation email will have a link to the Volunteer Training instructions. Volunteer training consists of an online application and orientation video and will take approximately 30 minutes to complete.3. Once your LifeCare Alliance Volunteer Training is complete, Molly Edwards, our Seeds of Caring Meals-On-Wheels team leader will email you information for Seeds of Caring Meals-On-Wheels routes.4. Signup for a day/time that works for your family and spread kindness to the homebound neighbors in our community! Approximate Cost: FreeWhy you'll be invited to donate:Every time we're able to design, coordinate, and offer an opportunity for kids to give back, it's with the help of supporters like you.
