Growing up in Miami, he had been involved in various parts of the music industry, from working at Flamingo Record Pool, to playing guitar for the band "Life In Sodom". His interest in both House & Industrial music inspired him to finally move to Chicago, and as far as timing, it couldn't have been any better. Bill quickly became involved in the night scene with residency at clubs like Shelter Nightclub, Crobar, & Smart Bar. Currently he frequents clubs like Panorama Bar in Berlin, and holds a weekly residency and 2 monthly's in Miami. His studio work began with a remix of Kay Ladrae's “Lack Of Love”, followed by a string of releases, including an LP on Trax Records. His recent releases include "U Won't C Me" on Strictly Rhythm/Snuff Trax as well as several re-issues. Current remixes include Kiddy Smile - Teardrops In The Box on Defected Records, as well as Tres Manos - Can't Stop The Future on Cyclo Recordings. More of his older and recent production/remix work can be found on Discogs.B͎R͎E͎T͎T͎ ͎J͎O͎H͎N͎S͎O͎N͎Brett Johnson's sound is best known as groovy, bumping house with a hearty dose of techno elements, crafted and mixed in a way that is truly identifiable as his own. Whether DJing or creating music, his wild card is an ability to inject warmth and soul into his electronic sound. The result is an impressive discography filled with unique statements, otherworldly surprises, and undeniable club stompers. Releasing his first record in 1999 on the now defunct, Aesoteric Records, Brett has released over 100 records and remixes for some of dance music's best labels. The list includes Crosstown Rebels, Classic Music Company, 20/20 Vision, Get Physical, Visionquest, Magnetic, Freerange, Cynosure, F-Communications; the list goes on and on. Aside from a busy remix schedule, Brett is currently releasing his own music on the labels Visionquest, Classic Music Company, Get Physical and Cynosure Recordings.B͎I͎L͎L͎ ͎C͎O͎N͎V͎E͎R͎S͎E͎Originally from Lansing, Michigan, Bill Converse grew up immersed in the Detroit techno sound before relocating to Austin, Texas in 1998. From there, he began building up an arsenal of synthesizers and slowly making a name for himself as a DJ and producer, becoming a fixture of the city's local electronic music scene. Producing music under the name WWC, a 90-minute cassette of Converse's fluid, hypnotic acid techno tracks titled Meditations/Industry was released by local label Obsolete Future in 2013; the shorter Alienself followed in 2014. Converse helped establish a crew called Timelife Methrave, which started an online radio show titled Tunnel Dive in order to highlight underground electronic producers and DJs. In 2016, the San Francisco-based label Dark Entries issued an abridged LP version of Meditations/Industry, this time credited to Bill Converse. The album was followed by Warehouse Invocation, an EP containing additional material from the original Meditations/Industry cassette as well as a previously unreleased track. The 12" single "7 of 9" followed on Texas Recordings Underground. In July of 2017, Converse released the double 12" Salt of Mars on Tabernacle Records, as well as The Shape of Things to Come on Dark Entries.***Might be Magic is a LGBTQIA+ safe space.
