LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE + CLIMATE ACTION in New England; A Virtual Summit

The Boston Society of Landscape Architects (BSLA) connects, convenes, and celebrates landscape architects and the greater design community at every career stage, as it advances the profession of landscape architecture and supports the creation of extraordinary environments throughout the region and the world.  We are the Massachusetts and Maine chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects.

Join us in a virtual, regional summit to discuss climate action through landscape architecture in New England.

Climate change is here. Our outdoor spaces, from backyards to schoolyards, parks to forests to watersheds, are being impacted, and have vital roles to play in mitigation and adaptation. As a professional community of designers, planners, engineers, scientists, policy makers, advocates, academics, students -- landscape architects and many, many more -- working in Massachusetts and Maine, New Hampshire and Rhode Island and Vermont and Connecticut and beyond, what are you seeing in your work now? As we consider the New England landscape, where do we need to go?Please join us for a virtual, regional summit to discuss climate ISSUES, current and projected, that cities and towns, rural and suburban areas are experiencing in the landscape, along with ACTIONS that are underway, and that need to grow..<h2>SCHEDULE</h2>11:00am Hello &amp; Welcome11:15am KeynotesShaun O&#x27;Rourke, Managing Director, Program and Business Development, Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank, and former Chief Resilience Officer for the State of Rhode IslandJulie Wormser, Senior Policy Advisor, Mystic River Watershed Association.
