2022 September High School Dance Workshop

The Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment was founded by recently retired Dean John Bedford and Chairman Jo Rowan to educate, train and prepare dancers, managers, teachers, and choreographers for the American entertainment industry through degree programs offered by Dance and Arts Management Departments. Dance training emphasizes techniques used from Broadway to commercial dance focusing on techniques - tap, jazz, musical theater dance, rhythm tap and ballet (as used in musical theater).The School offers the following degrees: Bachelor of Performing Arts in Dance Performance, Bachelor of Science in Dance Management, Bachelor of Science in American Dance Pedagogy, Bachelor of Science in Entertainment Business.Admission to all dance degree programs is by selective audition.The School is located in the Edith Kinney Gaylord Center, a world-class facility for teaching arts management and dance.Former students and graduates can be found performing, teaching, choreographing or managing throughout the world, from Broadway and L.A. to Tokyo and beyond."In our opinion, no other college in the country is doing a better job of preparing versatile dancers for this industry then the Ann Lacy School of American Dance & Entertainment at Oklahoma City University" - OnStage

The Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment is offering the High School Dance Workshop in person and virtually!

Oklahoma City University, Gaylord Center

Oklahoma City University&#x27;s Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment is offering High School Dance Workshop for high school freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors. The workshop includes tap, jazz, and ballet technique classes, as well as a triple threat/musical theater dance class. Workshop classes are kept small to ensure personal attention and to provide a unique OKCU dance experience.The Ann Lacy School of Dance and Entertainment will be hosting an on campus and virtual option for our September High School Dance Workshop! Dancers and their families are welcome to attend a dance visit day on September 16th starting at 9AM. An official schedule will be available closer to the workshop, but dancers can anticipate a tap technique, jazz technique, ballet technique, and a specialty repertoire class taught by our nationally ranked faculty. For those choosing the virtual option - An email containing the links to the LIVE Zoom classes and various pre-recorded content will be made available the morning of 9/17/2022 (day before the workshop!) Workshops will be held in-person, but Oklahoma City University reserves the right to move to a virtual format based on pandemic risk levels. Details related to COVID mitigation protocols and requirements will be provided upon registration. We have a no refund policy on our dance workshop tickets. ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
