在郊外一个破败的车站，几个人百无聊赖地等车进城。有人想到城里下象棋，有人想去约会，还有人只是想喝一口城里的酸牛奶。
这些人互不相识，进城后也将各奔东西。但此刻他们在同一个车站旁，寒暄，插队，争吵，也互相宽慰。一场偶遇，却最终成为了生命中最为冗长的段落。
要等的车迟迟不来，驶来的车永远不停。为什么还要接着等下去？他们等待着的到底是什么？

《车站》的命运颇为坎坷。1983年，作者高行健将这部剧发表在赫赫有名的文学期刊《收获》上，之后在北京人艺上演，之后却迅速被禁演。在此之后，《车站》没有在任何国内专业剧团演出过。这部简单的话剧，为何遭受这么多封杀和恶评？
我们试图还原高行健对《车站》的定义：“无场次多声部生活抒情喜剧”。这是一部温暖而优美，生活化而充满哲思的话剧。在一切日常繁琐之下，在一切艰辛困苦之后，我们终将做出自己的选择。

作者简介：
高行健，法籍华人，剧作家、小说家、翻译家。他在上世纪八十年代的大量剧作，尝试了多种不同的戏剧手法和表现内容，这也使高行健成为了“先锋派话剧”的代表作家。作者本人则声明自己的作品“没有主义”。
2000年高行健获诺贝尔文学奖，颁奖理由是“其作品的普遍价值，刻骨铭心的洞察力和语言的丰富机智，为中文小说和艺术戏剧开辟了新的道路。”
