Railroad Photo Sessions - Union Depot St. Paul / Osceola

In conjunction with Union Depot's Train Day events, S & B Productions is excited to offer two railroad photography sessions. On Friday, May 5, we'll offer a night photo session at Union Depot in St. Paul; on Monday, May 8, we'll be running a photo charter out of Osceola, WI. 
<H2>Union Depot St. Paul Night Session: Fri, May 5</H2>
The first session will be a night event at Union Depot in St. Paul on Friday, May 5. The photo event will begin at 8 PM (directions for parking and entering the area will be emailed ahead of time) and conclude with the departure of Amtrak’s Empire Builder from the depot at 10:20 PM (assuming it's on time). Lighting for the event will be provided by United Rentals and supervised by photographer Robert M. Ball.
Photo subjects will include several diesel locomotives from area railroads and museums:

<LI>Amtrak P42DC #42 "Salutes our Veterans" unit </LI>
<LI>Twin Cities & Western Railroad GP38-3</LI>
<LI>Union Pacific (heritage unit requested)</LI>
<LI>BN SDP40 No. 325</LI>
<LI>Amtrak’s Empire Builder</LI>
</UL>
Stationary lighting will be provided so you can walk from subject to subject and shoot as you like.
This is a rare chance to take photos on the Union Depot platform of several subjects in an area that is normally off limits except to all but Amtrak crew and passengers.
Cost of the session is only $22.50. Remember to bring your tripod and cable release to the event
<H2> Osceola Photo Charter: Monday, May 8 </H2>
S & B Productions will be running a "Burlington Northern” photo charter on Monday, May 8, on the Minnesota Transportation Museum’s Osceola & St. Croix Valley Railway on CN’s Dresser Sub out of Osceola, WI.
For those unfamiliar with a photo charter, participants ride a train, dissembark at photographic locations, the train backs up out of view, then comes past at speed for a "runby." Once everyone has photos, the train then backs up, you get back on, head to the next location, and repeat. As time and space allows, participants are allowed to ride in the cab of the locomotive. Think of a historical re-enactment with a railroad photography spin. 
<H3>There will be two trains:</H3>
<UL>
<LI>EMD SD9 C&S 839, eight ballast cars, and a BN caboose</LI>
<LI>EMD SDP40 BN 325 with a short passenger train</LI>
</UL>
<H3>Itinerary: </H3>
<UL>
<LI>8 AM: Board passenger train at Osceola</LI>
<LI>Photo runbys starting at St. Croix River Bridge, more as we head east to Dresser for lunch </LI>
<LI>Y both trains so locomotives are facing the sun</LI>
<LI>More photo runbys as we head west to Maple Island, MN until sunset</LI>
<LI>Return to Osceola after dark</LI>
</UL>
<H3>Bonus - Night Session in Osceola: Sunday, May 7</H3>
For those riding on the Monday charter, there will be a night photo session at the Osceola Depot at 8 PM on Sunday, May 7.
<H3>Costs</H3>
$160, plus $10 for a boxed lunch. In lieu of the boxed offering, you may opt for lunch at Wards Bar in Dresser. If you'd like to go to Wards Bar, let us know, and we'll give them a heads up.
