ABOUT THIS SHOWUnderCurrentMPLS: Fartaversary! 11 YearsUnderCurrentMPLS has been documenting and promoting live music of Minneapolis since 2011, with a YouTube archive approaching 5000 videos of local bands.In celebration of UnderCurrentMPLS 11th year, The Cedar hosts this all day event with bands: Alien Book Club / Allergen / Another Heaven / BlueDriver / Boobless / Butter Boys / Closetalker / Din-Din / Fletcher Coulee / Liquid Lunch / Prismatic Spray / Products / Serious Machine and World Wide Basement Vibes will be doing live video art throughout the show. 1:40 PM | DIN DINdin-din is a weird band that comes from all over the midwest but we call the Twin Cities our base of operations. With an eclectic mix of instrumentation and affected vocals, din-din intends to take the listener on a journey through a scary carnival where although you're on edge the entire time, the rides are actually super fun and there is some decent food available as well. Our songs are about the end of human existence, the climate crisis, snakes, outer space and of course, donuts. We self recorded our debut album in January 2022 and if Ryan ever gets a second to breathe he'll finish mixing it this summer as well. 2:25 PM | OEURTHOeurth are a two piece band from Minneapolis. Keri Deng Tap's thudding, knotty bass lines and their singular, harrowing vocal style blur with Blaine Redden's simple, yet deeply emotive guitar parts, all supported by a repetitive, rudimentary drum machine. The effect is warm and gothic, alienating yet engaging, minimal; one senses endless cavernous depths, just beyond the darkness. 8:35 PM | BUTTER BOYSButter Boys are a Minneapolis rock band writing songs about good times, bad times, and not turning in your homework.
