May is Lower East Side History Month! Join the East Village merchant community in celebrating the history of the East Village, Loisaida, and the Lower East Side.

Hosted by <a href="https://evimanyc.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">EVIMA</a>, <a href="https://coopersquare.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Cooper Square Committee</a>, and LES Small Business Alliance.Join EVIMA for a night of storytelling and conversation at La Sala de Pepe on Avenue C. The event will offer a glimpse into Loisaida past and present, featuring a conversation with leaders and longtime residents of the neighborhood.<ul><li>Pepe Flores, local historian and curator of Sala de Pepe</li><li>Lyn Pentecost, founder of Lower Eastside Girls Club</li><li>Chino Garcia, founder of CHARAS</li><li>Alejandro Epifanio, Executive Director of the Loisaida Center </li><li>with music by David “Daso” Soto</li></ul>We&#x27;ll be visiting a few of the restaurants and bars on and around Avenue C afterwards.
