Taous Claire Khazem presents the Minnesota tour of Sunrise at Midnight. Blending dynamic theater and original songs, Sunrise at Midnight is a rare glimpse into the rich Kabyle Folktale tradition from Algeria unknown in the United States. A flute that possesses the power to upend life as we know it; a sexy cautionary tale for young men looking to marry too soon; a chilling sacrifice a leader must make, interweave to create an electrifying play of lust, wit and adventure. In addition to Khazem the cast includes Emily Zimmer, Atim Opoka, Gregory Parks and Vlad Messing.--The Sunrise at Midnight tour is made possible by the Carleton College through Office of the Dean of the College, The Department of French and Francophone Studies, The Center for Global and Regional Studies, Middle East Studies, and Cross-Cultural Studies. Taous Claire Khazem is a fiscal year 2019-2020 Arts Tour grant recipient from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature; and by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.###
