A manuscript in the handwriting of a famous painter from Puebla, Patricio Ramos y Ortega, who faced the invading enemy and took part in the defense of the homeland to fulfill his duty as a son of Mexico, devoting himself from then on to capture, through his art, the most important moments of the battle.Despite the little information that is known about the painter, Patricio Ramos&#x27; paintings appear in many of the visual works related to the Battle of Puebla, portraying a moment that continues to fill the people of Mexico with pride. And achieving, as the author wanted, to preserve through his work the &quot;heroic deeds for the honor, glory, and memory of the country&quot;.The manuscript of the painter Patricio Ramos constitutes one of the main elements, belonging to the families of Puebla, today in the custody of the Palafoxiana Library, which allows us to maintain the memory, and bring closer to popular knowledge, the past of the families of the state: documents that account for the characters, and the links that united them in the defense of Mexico.SINOPSIS La defensa de la soberanía nacional se encuentra reflejada en los numerosos textos que describen el triunfo del Ejército de Oriente sobre las fuerzas conservadoras y francesas; así como en semblanzas de personajes participantes e, incluso, experiencias de lucha tanto de líderes militares como de soldados mexicanos y franceses. Uno de estos textos, resguardado celosamente en la Biblioteca Palafoxiana, es un manuscrito del puño y letra de un célebre pintor poblano, Patricio Ramos y Ortega, quien se enfrentó al enemigo invasor y tomó parte en la defensa de la patria para cumplir su deber como hijo de México, dedicándose a partir de entonces a plasmar, mediante sus pinceles, los momentos más importantes de la batalla. A pesar de los pocos datos que se conocen del pintor, los cuadros de Patricio Ramos aparecen en muchas de las obras impresas y visuales relativas a la batalla de Puebla, retratando una contienda que sigue llenando de orgullo al pueblo de México. Y logrando, tal como deseaba el autor, preservar a través de sus trabajos los &quot;hechos heroicos para honra, gloria y memoria de la patria&quot;.El manuscrito del pintor Patricio Ramos constituye uno de los principales elementos, pertenecientes a las familias poblanas, hoy en resguardo de la Biblioteca Palafoxiana, que permiten traer a la memoria, y acercar al conocimiento popular, el pasado de las familias del estado. Documentos que dan cuenta de los personajes, y los vínculos que los unían en la defensa de México.
