Sex is on your clients' minds, but does it enter the clinical conversation?

<p>It's not uncommon for both client and therapist to collude in avoiding sex-related issues due to mutual discomfort. Most of us have not had the training to help couples explore their sexual needs, fears, fantasies, and desires. All this is unfortunate, as the current field of sex therapy offers a body of practices that integrate exceptionally well with individual psychotherapy and couples therapy.</p><p>To bridge this gap, we are excited to offer this workshop with Ian Kerner, a renowned sex therapist, who will do a thorough and provocative presentation, including:</p><p>1. The exponentially expanding science of sexuality</p><p>2. Current tools for assessment, case formulation, and treatment of common sexual issues through a range of different lenses (biological, psychological, relational, intersectional).</p><p>3. Co-constructing homework assignments with patients that maintain the clinical thread in-between sessions and bring back valuable data to continue working on.</p><p>4. Challenging and deconstructing the limiting beliefs that patients often hold around sex.</p><h3>In this workshop, you will learn how to: </h3><p>Connect with your clients around "hard to talk about" sex topics</p><p>Integrate tools for intervening in common issues such as low desire, mismatched libido, arousal and orgasm problems, and excessive porn use, amongst others.</p><p>Apply the latest research on spontaneous vs. responsive desire, arousal non-concordance, the dual-control model, core erotic themes, and more.</p><p>Communicating about sex is hard for patients and therapists. But in the end, not communicating is even harder. So let's talk about sex.</p><p><strong>What's Included:</strong></p><p>Training, refreshments, lunch, and CEs.</p><h3>FAQs:</h3><p><strong>What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?</strong></p><p>There will be plenty of parking near the conference center in a designated parking lot and on nearby streets.</p><p><strong>Lunch and Refreshments:</strong></p><p>Morning and afternoon beverages and snacks will be provided as part of the training cost of admission. <h3>Covid  Policy:</h3><p>Smith College requires that all guests to campus be fully vaccinated plus first booster if eligible, and masking is required for all events when not eating or drinking. </p>

<h3><strong>Cancellations and Refunds Policy For NCCT Events</strong></h3><h3>Live Events</h3><p>Cancellations will be accepted and payments refunded in full up to two (2) weeks prior to any training event.</p><p>Following two weeks prior to the event, a credit for future trainings matching the amount already paid for that event’s registration will be given to registrants who cancel their registration, for whatever reason, up to two (2) days prior to the event date. This credit can only be applied to one future training, regardless of its cost. If the cost of the future training is less than the amount paid, the difference will be lost. If the cost of the future training is greater than the credit, then the balance will become due at registration time.</p><p>As an alternative to a refund or credit, registrants may transfer their registration to another individual so long as they do so while they still qualify for the refund or credit.</p><p>In the event that you cannot attend the course due to illness, please reach out to us and we will switch your ticket to the virtual offering. </p><h3>On-Demand Courses</h3><p>Refunds are available for on-demand course purchases, within 14 days of the time of purchase, if the website user that the course was assigned to has not accessed any of the course’s materials.
