To learn more and get free tickets to the festival leading up to the gala (June 16, 17, 18, & 21), visit THIS LINK. At our first Gala, hosted by music writer Kyla Marshell, we will honor Shanta Nurullah with the M³ Lifetime Achievement Award. This award fills a gap that exists in honoring elder women in the jazz and creative music scene, whose musical contributions have been invisibilized due to racism and misogyny.

6pm: Reception (drinks & light fare)

7pm: Honoring Shanta Nurullah with M³ Lifetime Achievement Award

7:15pm: World premiere screenings of Winter Solstice 2021 Cohort duo commissions & interviews

8:30pm: Closing remarks

The Winter Solstice 2021 Cohort (4th Cohort)’s duo commissions are video+music works by:

Jessica Ackerley (Honolulu, Hawai’i) + Cansu Tanrikulu (Berlin, Germany)

Goussy Célestin (NYC) + Francesca Remigi (Boston/Milan, Italy)

Leonor Falcon (NYC/Venezuela) + Paula Shocron (Argentina)

Ruth Naomi Floyd (Philadelphia) + Wenjun Wu (China/Boston)

Devon Gates (Atlanta, GA/Boston, MA) + Naomi Moon Siegel (Missoula, MT)

Gabi Motuba (South Africa) + Ni Nyoman Srayamurtikanti (Bali, Indonesia)

$25 tix: Enjoy the reception and witness the Cohort 4 world premiere video screenings$50 tix: Enjoy the reception and get preferred seating for the Cohort 4 world premiere video screenings$75 tix: Enjoy the reception, get preferred seating for the Cohort 4 world premiere video screenings AND receive our first-ever printed anthology featuring the writings of our first two Cohorts! Can't make it? DONATE HERE and Watch Livestream June 22 at 7pm ET HERE! To learn more and get free tickets to the festival leading up to the gala (June 16, 17, 18, & 21), visit THIS LINK.
