LIVE WELL BE WELL: Virtual -  Chronic Disease Self-Management Workshop

THIS EVENT IS OFFERED TO SOUTHERN ILLINOIS RESIDENTS - ONLY THIS IS A FREE EVIDENCE BASED ONLINE WORKSHOP THAT MEETS FOR 2 ½ HOURS ONLINE - EACH TUESDAY AFTERNOON FOR SIX WEEKS August 9, 2022 to September 20, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM **THERE WILL BE AN ORIENTATION SESSION ON August 9, 2022 PRIOR TO THE 6 SESSION ** Who should attend: Anyone living with a chronic health condition such as arthritis, heart disease, lung disease, diabetes, Parkinson's, others, or anyone who is a caregiver for someone with a chronic health condition. What you'll learn: • Building a more effective relationship with your doctor • Dealing with pain, frustration, isolation, lack of energy • Exploring an exercise routine • Communicating with family and friends about your condition • Eating tips to help you feel better • Preventing complications of your condition • Managing your medications • Setting and achieving goals • Solving problems Developed at Stanford University, the research shows: • Significantly improved overall health status • Increased energy levels • Increased feeling of control of your life • Reduction of days in the hospital • Reduction of emergency room visits • Improved quality of life • Reduced healthcare costs For registration or more information contact Sandra Schwartz: sandra.schwartz@sih.net or 618-457-5200 ext. 67837
