The International Ride of Silence unites people who ride bicycles and those who love them in solemn remembrance of the tragic deaths and terrible injuries at the hands of motorists. More than 600 cyclists are fatally injured by motor vehicles on America’s roads each year. Learn more about this international event by viewing the video below. Here in Thousand Oaks the ROS is organized by the City of Thousand Oaks, Conejo Valley Cyclists and Pedego 101. Each year we gather to ride silently for 10 miles on some of the busiest Thousand Oaks roads. We encourage rides of all types to join us in reminding and educating drivers to be more attentive and careful when approaching cyclists on our roads. We are traffic too. To ensure our safety, the Ride of Silence is supported by the Thousand Oaks Sheriff&#x27;s Department. This year the ride will start and end at The Lakes shopping center. We&#x27;ll gather at the west end of the parking lot (nearest City Hall). Please be unloaded and lined up by 5:45pm. We will do a safety briefing and have a brief ceremony before rolling out at 6pm.
