The organization remains dedicated to the production, interpretation, and distribution of prints and other art media by Chicana/o and Latinx artists; and its multidisciplinary, intergenerational programs promote artistic excellence and empower community by providing access to working space, tools, training and beyond. Self Help Graphics &amp; Art and Prospering Backyards present Soil Time: Soil in Crisis - Cultivating Hope for Our Future as part of our new Soil Time program, taking place next on Saturday, June 4 from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. All materials will provided. Register today! How can soil survive pollution, nutrient depletion, and urban sprawl? Get up close with native plants healing the soil underground, learn how communities fight urban sprawl that destroy neighborhoods and the soil they rely on, and discover new ways of landscaping that nurture the soil and the life it grows. This series continues with Rooted: Our Cultural Connection to Soil on July 2. Soil Time and Prospering Backyards is led by Los Angeles-based artist Maru Garcia with Self Help Graphics &amp; Art in partnership with the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles and the Department of Cultural Affairs, City of Los Angeles.
