Women Writing for (a) Change Jacksonvilleis a growing community for Jacksonville writers. We focus primarily on women, but not exclusively. We strive to reach a diverse audience and to make our programs accessible to all, including all cultural groups, genders, and communities.

Following our PublicReadAround, this closing reception will provide folks with their last chance to enjoy the art of the OCEANS Exhibition, curated by Erin Kendrick and Princess Simpson Rashid.Join us for a powerful exhibition showing a full range of interpretations...from the beauty and power of nature, to the ocean of experiences felt by the artists during the pandemic, to the interplay between the coast and the ocean, to little kids looking at us through the walls of an aquarium and asking...what happens next?Featured artists: Theresa Rykaczewski of Word Revolt, Edmari Hernandez Silen, and Rhonda Bristol, in addition to a special installation titled "Wake Up" by Deborah Reid. We’re also featuring Ocean Sole, a Ponte Vedra organization that stretches across the ocean to Kenya, where they make colorful sculptures out of recycled flip flops that wash up on the Kenyan shores.Community members can stop to enjoy WWfaC’s signature “sidewalk hospitality” and connect (safely) with artists and writers outdoors and inside. Check out the native plant garden and enjoy light refreshments while viewing the art on display at this historic Riverside home and garden.<h3>Details:</h3><ul><li>Please register to attend</li><li>Wear a mask inside and practice social distancing outside</li><li>Anyone can attend! </li></ul>We will have journals, art, books, and anthologies for sale. All proceeds support our work lifting the expression of the feminine in our community, including writing circles, community events, art shows, and our annual anthology.
