Community Day @ The Watermill Center

Founded in 1992 by avant-garde visionary and theater director Robert Wilson, The Watermill Center is an interdisciplinary laboratory for the arts and humanities located on Long Island’s East End. With an emphasis on creativity and collaboration, Watermill ​integrates performing arts practice with resources from the humanities, research from the sciences and inspiration from the visual arts. ​The Center is unique within the global landscape of experimental artistic practice and regularly convenes the brightest minds from across disciplines to do, in Wilson’s words, “what no one else is doing.”

Join The Watermill Center for Community Day: an afternoon of workshops, performances, and scavenger hunts across our 10-acre property!

Community Day at The Watermill Center invites the public to experience its 10-acre property as a space to explore, relax, and get inspired. Community Day features an installation and performance by Watermill Alum Tamar Ettun; a live performance directed by Artist-in-Residence Nile Harris; a dance and movement workshop with Hampton-Bays artist and educator, Andrea Cote; a site-specific installation by Bridgehampton artist Erica-Lynn Huberty; and an exhibition of work by Brianna L. Hernández Baurichter, who will be in residence at Ma&#x27;s House &amp; BIPOC Art Studio this summer. The afternoon will also include a land acknowledgment ceremony by Shane Weeks and Kelly Dennis from the Shinnecock Nation. Tickets start at $15, children&#x27;s admission (11 and under) is $5. <h3>Additional Information</h3>PLEASE NOTE: The event takes place outdoors, as such we strongly encourage proper footwear and attire. Masks are mandatory and we ask that all guests adhere to strict social distancing guidelines. Guests that are vaccinated are able to opt-out of wearing a mask. Pets are not allowed. Guests are encouraged to bring a water bottle. Space is limited. Advanced registration is required. If the cost of this event presents a financial barrier for you, please request a pay-what-you-can ticket by contacting education@watermillcenter.org. Spaces are limited. We will consider requests in the order that they are received.
