A dollmaking and memory searching workshop lead by artist rod jones ii

Please join us on Saturday May 21st from 1-3PM for a doll making workshop led by <a href="https://inliquid.org/artist/jones-rod/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">rod jones ii</a>! Taking place in the InLiquid Gallery where rod’s work is featured as a part of the current exhibition, <a href="https://inliquid.org/exhibitions/what-are-we-claiming/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">What Are We Claiming?</a>, participants will get to make their own keepsake-doll and talk through the memories they awaken, inspire, and cast*. Make sure to RSVP to secure your seat and materials.A selection of materials will be provided though we strongly encourage participants to bring found or personal materials that stir feelings and memories such as old clothing, fabrics, buttons, beads, hair, hair clips, glitter, pins, etc. No previous art experience necessary. Open to all ages, but best suited for teenagers-adults.*the time to complete the doll will be approximately 6 hours. After the workshop ends, participants can stay in the gallery to continue to work with rod, or take their in-process doll home to complete there.

rod jones ii is a multidisciplinary artist from Gary, IN, living and working in Philadelphia, PA. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Printmaking from Truman State University, and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Art from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. He’s shown work at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Woodmere Museum of Art in Philadelphia, PA, Truman State University in Kirksville, MO, Tiger Strikes Asteroid in Philadelphia and Anna Zorina Gallery in New York, NY. He has also been collected by The Woodmere Museum of Art in Philadelphia, PA. He is currently an adjunct professor of Printmaking and Drawing at the University of Pennsylvania and Moore College of Art, and has lectured at Tyler School of Art at Temple University, Pace University, and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
