Join us for EcoQuestions with Dr. Tania Hernandez and learn all about the <a href="https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/metro-phoenix-saguaro-census-75194809-f9e6-414a-802b-217a1f3b9569" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Saguaro Census</a> and how you can help!The Saguaro Census is the first step to generate a database to monitor the saguaro population in the Valley, learn more about their health, and research the effects climate change might have on them.Dr. <a href="https://dbg.org/research-conservation-staff/tania-hernandez-hernandez/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Tania Hernandez</a> is the New World Succulents Research Scientist at <a href="https://dbg.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Desert Botanical Garden</a>, specializing in succulent plants like agave and cactus. Born and raised in central Mexico, Dr. Hernandez has been surrounded and astonished by cactus diversity all her life and the work in her lab is motivated by an interest to understand how and when these plants originated and how they evolved their adaptations to withstand water scarcity.This session coordinates with the May EcoQuest for the <a href="https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/metro-phoenix-ecoflora" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Metro Phoenix EcoFlora</a>. This month, we're collaborating on the <a href="https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/metro-phoenix-saguaro-census-75194809-f9e6-414a-802b-217a1f3b9569" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Saguaro Census </a>with Dr. Hernandez and the <a href="https://saveoursaguarosaz.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Save Our Saguaros</a> Gold Award Project.
