<h3>NOTE: THIS EVENT WAS RESCHEDULED FROM APRIL 12th DUE TO BLIZARD CONDITIONS ACROSS NORTH DAKOTA.</h3>April is Fair Housing Month and this year we mark the 54th Anniversary of the Fair Housing Act with a FREE HYBRID event including a film screening and fair housing panel discussion. Join us at the Fargo Theatre 2 to watch a Minnesota Experience Original , &#x27;Jim Crow of the North&#x27;. The film shows how racial covenants and redlining, a common practice in 20th century northern cities, shaped Minneapolis and contributes to racial inequality and tensions that exist to this day. Opening remarks by Dr. Terry Hogan and Senator Tim Mathern will start the evening.After the film, we will be joined by guest panelists as we look at how to further fair housing in North Dakota. Guest Panelists include Fargo City Commissioner Arlette Preston, ND Representative Ruth Buffalo, Grand Forks Council Member Katherine Dachtler, and HPFHC Executive Director Michelle Rydz. The team behind Mapping Prejudice looks to answer that question by examining the history of the spread of racist, restrictive real estate covenants in the early 20th century.
