About The EventThe National Park Service has recently approved a highly controversial amendment to its General Management Plan for Point Reyes National Seashore that will allow private ranchers to begin raising commercial goats and sheep, provide a path to raising chickens and pigs, as well as the planting of commercial row crops such as artichokes inside this National Park. The new plan will also kill native Tule elk to provide more grass for cows that graze here.Join filmmakers, Daniel Dietrich and Evie Dietrich, Environmental Writer Ken Brower and Resource Renewal Institute Director of Programs Chance Cutrano in a screening of 2 films that tackle the devastating impact private industry is having on Point Reyes National Seashore. After the film screenings, a Q&amp;A will take place to discuss the current status of the park and to answer any questions the audience may have.Artist Bio: Daniel DietrichDaniel Dietrich is an award-winning wildlife photographer and cinematographer living in Point Reyes, California. His passion lies in Point Reyes National Seashore, a National Park he has committed to protecting through his work.His photographs, videos, company, and writings have been featured on TV, in numerous publications, and in multiple films, including National Geographic, ABC, Outdoor Photographer, Audubon, Sierra, LA Times, Fodors, Lonely Planet, and others. His commitment to ethics in wildlife photography is of the utmost importance in his work.Daniel sits on the ethics committee for the North America Nature Photography Association (NANPA), he founded the non-profit <a href="http://www.conservationkids.org" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Conservation Kids</a> and owns <a href="http://www.pointreyessafaris.com" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Point Reyes Safaris</a>, a wildlife photography safari company focusing on wild bobcats and other wildlife in Northern California.Artist Bio: Evie DietrichEvie Dietrich is an 8-year-old with a passion for wildlife. After her father created Tule Elk – The Killing of a Native Species, she told him she wanted to create her own film to educate people on what was happening in her beloved National Park. She wrote, shot, directed, and narrated the film, The Elk Fence, which has been screened in multiple film festivals and has received 3 awards.
