Anywhere: Compassion Kits with Community Shelter Board Thru 5.3.22

We empower kids to create a kinder community with their hearts, hands, and minds. Check back frequently, as we post new service opportunities on the 1st and 15th of each month.

Seeds of Caring

Children will gain empathy for our unhoused neighbors and then use their helping hands to assemble compassion kits and make cheer cards.

Who this anywhere service project is for: Ages 2 - 12.What you&#x27;ll be doing: Children will learn they are never too little to make a difference! They will build empathy for our unhoused neighbors, then helping hands will get busy by packing Compassion Kits with cheer cards that will be distributed to individuals in need by the <a href="https://www.csb.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Community Shelter Board</a>. Keep one kit in your car for when you see someone who needs help!When you&#x27;ll be doing it:This anywhere service project can be done at home, school, or wherever you are! Donations may be contact-free, porch-dropped April 29 - May 1 at a Seeds of Caring volunteer&#x27;s home (in Powell, Bexley or Upper Arlington) at addresses provided in the service packet. Or drop donations May 2 - 3 at the Seeds of Caring home office in Worthington.How it all works:Once you have completed registration, you will receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite with a link to your service packet. This packet includes project instructions, guided discussions and more. If for some reason you cannot access this file, please email programs@seedsofcaring.org for assistance.The meaning-making: Engaging children’s hearts and minds before getting their hands active with service is a vital step in raising caring, compassionate humans. In every Seeds of Caring service packet, you&#x27;ll find quick, easy-to-use guides to support you in leading meaning-making conversations! This project&#x27;s guided discussion focuses on the unhoused and empathy.Approximate Cost: $20 for supplies (Exact donation needs will be included in the service packet. Kids will be packing 3 or more kits with items like socks, granola bars, toothbrushes and combs).Why you&#x27;ll be invited to donate:Every time we&#x27;re able to design, coordinate, and offer an opportunity for kids to give back, it&#x27;s with the help of supporters like you. Please consider making a generous gift to help us continue to empower kids to create a kinder community with their hearts, hands, and minds.
