Fairford Festival of Fiction presents an exploration of wonders of the natural world - the animals and wildlife bestselling children&#x27;s author Sophie Kirtley (The Wild Way Home , The Way to Impossible Island) loves to write about. What does wildness bring to a story? And how can we make our own stories go wild too? Bring paper and pens and your imaginations! Limited to 20 places. Particularly suitable for children at Key Stage 1 and 2. (Ages 5-10.) Sophie&#x27;s books will be on sale at the event, courtesy of Pea Green Boat Books, and she&#x27;ll be happy to sign them. Sophie Kirtley is a prize-winning poet and children’s author. Her debut novel, The Wild Way Home, was published by Bloomsbury in 2020; it was Waterstones Children’s Book of the Month and has been shortlisted for numerous awards. H er second book, The Way to Impossible Island, has recently been selected as one of Waterstones Best Children’s Paperbacks of 2021.Sophie grew up in Northern Ireland where she spent her childhood climbing on hay bales, rolling down sand dunes and leaping the raw Atlantic waves. Nowadays she lives in Wiltshire with her husband, three children and their mini-menagerie of pets and wild things.
