The  United States Census Bureau  (Census Bureau)is a federal agency within the United States Department of Commerce.  The Census Bureau's mission is to serve as the nation’s leading provider of quality data. The data collected by the agency serves as a premier source of information about the United States’ changing economy, population, housing, workforce; and, state and local governments throughout the country. Pursuant to Article I, Section 2 of the Constitution, the agency oversees the decennial census every 10 years, which determines the distribution of Congressional seats to states, and is used to apportion seats in the U.S. House of Representatives. Census Bureau data is used to define critical decisions for legislature districts, school district assignment areas and other important functional areas of government operations. Census data informs how states and communities allocate funding for neighborhood improvements, public health, education, transportation, and much more. Census Bureau’s efforts aid in the distribution of more than $675 billion in federal funds to local, state and tribal governments each year.This event is hosted by the Census Bureau's Office of Equal Employment Opportunity, Diversity & Inclusion.

AGENDA:12:00 - 12:30 P.M. Get to Know Us! - This will be a 30 minute session to introduce participants to current Census Bureau employees. This will be a panel discussion where employees will share insights into their education backgrounds, career paths, and work. 12:30 - 1:00 P.M. Learn About Our Internships &amp; Employment Opportunities - This will be a 30 minute session to introduce participants to the various internship and employment opportunities available at the Census Bureau. 1:00 - 1:30 P.M. Resume Writing &amp; Interview FAQs - This will be a 30 minute session that will share information to help students prepare their resume and for their first interview.The Virtual Summit will take place via WebEx.
