Join us as we learn the basics of tree identification and urban forestry!

Shelton Park

This Tree Walk will touch on some of the basic concepts of Arboricultural Science using examples of 6 different trees growing nearby. The lecture will be followed by a Q&A where participants will have the opportunity to further discuss some of the talking points, discuss some of their own experiences with trees or ID additional Trees nearby!Bryan Vejar is the Campus Arborist at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena and sits on the Facility Operations Engagement Council as the Grounds Representative. He is also the Club Advisor for the Caltech Canopy Club which aims to promote Urban Forest Equity. Bryan is a Certified Arborist and A Qualified Tree Risk Assessor with The International Society of Arboriculture with an AS in Horticultural Science from Mt San Antonio College. He was a former Tree Climber for Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure and Operated a Tree Service out of Claremont for 5 years called BAM Total Tree Care. Bryan was a Claremont resident of 14 years. Suggested donation: $10 to go towards Sustainable Claremont programs
