Professor Daniel Thomas (University of Leiden) joins Pitt Professor Gregor Thum (History) for a discussion of his recent work entitled &quot;The Limits of Europe: Membership Norms and the Contestation of Regional Integration&quot; and how it outlines the potential expansion of the European Union and what it means to be a member of Europe. This is a part of the Creating Europe Speaker Series. This event will be in room 3911, Posvar Hall.Please note that the University of Pittsburgh is closed to the public. This event is only for Pitt students, faculty, and staff with a valid Pitt Oakland ID. The Creating Europe Speaker Series is a two-year project funded by a Jean Monnet Project grant from the European Commission and part of a larger initiative to reimagine European Studies at the University of Pittsburgh. The series will explore ideas of Europe from Late Antiquity to the contemporary period and consider ways in which processes of &quot;integration&quot; and &quot;disintegration&quot; have been at work in Europe for much of its history.
