In today’s unpredictable nonprofit environment, it can be a struggle to generate the funds needed to run your organization. Maintaining what you offer - let alone expanding the numbers you serve or deepening your impact - can be challenging to do through traditional sources such as grants and individual donations alone.Are you ready to explore and evaluate new earned revenue or fee-for-service opportunities to meet your mission? Join us for Revenue Generator!SCHEDULE:<ul><li>COURSE DAY 1 - Tuesday, May 10th from 9-3PM </li><li>COACHING (1-2 hours of individualized team coaching between the first and second course date) </li><li>COURSE DAY 2 - Tuesday, May 31st from 9-3PM</li><li>COACHING DAY 2 - (1-2 hours of individualized team coaching after the second course date) </li></ul>Who should attend? Nonprofit teams that have identified one or more earned revenue opportunities they want to assess and evaluate. This cohort-based program is limited to eight teams of 3-5 leaders each, ensuring an intimate experience with lots of individual feedback from instructors.Faculty are Mission Capital’s experienced, professional consulting staff and community thought leaders from <a href="https://www.svpaustin.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Social Venture Partners - Austin</a>.What you will learn: In just one month, your team will go through an intensive “design sprint” to build out your potential earned revenue opportunity, test it with potential customers, refine it, create an initial budget plan, and pitch the concept to a panel of local philanthropists and investors for feedback.This will be done via two virtual 6-hour course days with assignments and engagement in between which include one to two-hour coaching days. It’s a unique and fun blend of:• Short bursts of innovative content related to earned revenue-based design thinking strategies • Guided, hands-on team time to “workshop” your earned revenue opportunity and apply new tools to assess its viability• Presentations of the cohort’s evolving models to class attendees, instructors, and panelists for customized, real-time feedback• Interactions between sessions with your potential customers and Social Venture Partners, seasons business leaders with valuable, relevant experience and wisdom to shareKEY BENEFITS:• 14 hours of uninterrupted time for your leadership team to define and prototype the Earned Revenue opportunity together, validating your assumptions before sinking further resources into the project• Exposure to cutting edge content and useful tools like design thinking, rapid prototyping, the business model canvas, unit cost budgeting, and the art of the pitch• A platform to pitch your emerging idea to philanthropists and nonprofit experts and get real-time feedbackRegistration closes on Tuesday May 3rd.COST: This course is offered at a rate of $1500 per team of 3-5 people for Mission Capital members and $1800 per team of 3-5 people for non-members.

FACILITATORCarla Denison-Bickett brings her financial analysis, earned revenue, and operations expertise to the nonprofit sector and was one of the original designers/facilitators of the Revenue Generator when it launched in 2018. She has developed strategic business plans, board processes and orientations, as well as financial models for nonprofits organizations.Prior to joining Mission Capital, Carla was the CFO of Cara, a workforce development nonprofit based in Chicago that has several earned revenue businesses. She also served as the Vice President of Finance at Lehman Brothers Asset Management LLC. Carla has extensive management, reporting, and budgeting experience and has managed financial reporting, accounting, and government contracts.Carla holds a BS in Accounting from DePaul University as well as an MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. She is a registered CPA in Illinois and a certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional. Carla currently serves as the treasurer Giving Austin Labor Support and is on the Finance and Earned Revenue committees for NAMI Central Texas. She is also an active member of Impact Austin. Matt Glazer is a native Texan with fifteen years of experience in the nonprofit community and another ten in consulting and start-ups. Matt started his campaign working in political and civic campaigns across the country working at every level of government from the courthouse to the White House. Matt’s experience in the civic and non-partisan campaign sector ranges from working with Equality Texas as the statewide field and political director to working with the US PIRGs and the New Voter Project in New Mexico focusing on voter registration. Additionally he worked in Atlanta to stop unfair bottling practices with Corporate Accountability International and at the state legislature with Representative Pete Gallego.  Matt leveraged his diverse experience and was the inaugural Executive Director for Progress Texas and then the turnaround CEO for the Austin Young Chamber of Commerce. After 7 years leading non-profits, Matt lived a unique experience as the Regional General Manager for WeWork in Central Texas. Now Matt serves as an independent consultant and partner at Blue Sky Partners.  Matt is passionate about the social sector and social impact organizations. He works with a focus to support people doing good work for a long time. Matt brings a rich and diverse background of working closely with Boards of Directors and nonprofit staff to meet community need with mission alignment and approaches organizational growth with an entrepreneurial mindset. Matt currently serves on the board for The Other Ones Foundation and E4Youth while also serving not he advisory board for the Austin Tech Alliance. He works with the Hill Country Conservancy on the government relations committee and is a member of the Downtown Austin Alliance strategic communications committee. He has served as the Vice-Chair on the Skillpoint Alliance Board. From 2019 - 2020 Matt served as the Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Trinity university where he completed his undergraduate degree. Matt has a Master of Science Technology and Commercialization from the University of Texas.
