The competition starts around 11 AM, and should wrap up around 7 PM. We can offer judges a small honorarium as a token of our appreciation. If you’re interested in judging, please reach out to our event organizer Erin Hall at tvp.asmebruins@gmail.com. </h3>When: May 22nd, 2022 (8 AM - 8 PM)Where: Ackerman Grand Ballroom (308 Westwood Plz., Los Angeles, CA, 90024)Who: NOW OPEN TO THE PUBLIC and Student Teams (collegiate, high school)Teams permitting, there will be a 16-team double elimination tournament for the public and a separate 16-team double elimination tournament for students; the winners of both brackets will face off in the championships! Weight Class: 3 lb. Beetleweight Cost: $30 per robot. Student teams should purchase &quot;Student Team Robot Registration&quot; tickets, and builders from the general public should purchase &quot;Open Robot Registration&quot; tickets.

Tentative Event Schedule:<ul><li>8:30 AM - Venue Opens for Competitors</li><li>9:30 AM - Safety Inspections Begin</li><li>10:00 AM - Doors Open</li><li>11:00 AM - Matches Begin</li><li>1:30 PM - Lunch Break</li><li>2:30 PM - Matches Resume</li><li>7:00 PM - Final Matches</li><li>7:30 PM - Awards Ceremony</li></ul>

Competition Details:<ul><li>The event will be indoors, and is free for spectators.</li><li>Registration is NO LONGER LIMITED TO STUDENT TEAMS; currently, only 8 robots from any school/program can register, and a max of 32 robots can register.</li><li>Event will comply with UCLA Covid-19 protocols: <a href="https://covid-19.ucla.edu/ucla-covid-protocols/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://covid-19.ucla.edu/ucla-covid-protocols/</a>.</li><li>The arena size is 8&#x27; x 8&#x27; x 4&#x27;, with 1/4&quot; polycarbonate side walls and steel floors. </li><li>Tentatively, the competition format is double elimination; all robots will be guaranteed two matches.</li><li>Robots must adhere to the SPARC Robot Construction Specifications: <a href="http://sparc.tools/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2019/SPARC_Robot_Construction_Specifications_v1.3.pdf" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">http://sparc.tools/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2019/SPARC_Robot_Construction_Specifications_v1.3.pdf</a>.</li><li>We&#x27;ll send out more details to student teams and individuals who register at the beginning of May.</li></ul>
