The Center for Cooperative Media’s <a href="https://sjiep.org" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">South Jersey Information Equity Project (SJIEP)</a> is now accepting applications for<a href="https://medium.com/centerforcooperativemedia/south-jersey-information-equity-project-seeks-local-journalists-and-media-makers-for-fellowship-242daed89afe" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> a new fellowship program</a> to support journalists and media makers looking to cover stories that are important to Black communities in Camden, Burlington and Gloucester counties.This Q+A session with SJIEP coordinator, Adrienne Bauldock, and CCM assistant director of membership, Cassandra Etienne, is an opportunity to ask questions about the scope, details, overview, and other aspects of the fellowship.<h3>Fellows will receive:</h3><ul><li>Up to $4,000 each</li><li>Support and coaching from the Center</li><li>Assistance with placing the media they produce with local media partners, as needed</li></ul>The fellowship will run for four months — from April to July 2022.All published work will be hosted on the SJIEP website, and fellows will be expected to participate in one media co-creation workshop with local residents (in the community the fellow opts to work in) to discuss ideas for stories and media that is needed.This first SJIEP fellowship opportunity is generously supported by a grant from the Independence Public Media Foundation.
The deadline to apply is 11:59 pm ET on March 31, 2022.
