Registration is now open and completely free of charge for the Second Biannual ACE-IT Virtual Conference on developing and implementing new Competency-Based Education (CBE) courses and programs and refining existing ones. This Conference builds upon the success of the first ACE-IT Conference where attendees from 50 colleges and universities throughout the state of Texas, 19 other US states, and 5 countries joined internationally known CBE experts to learn more about how to develop new or improve existing CBE programs in accordance with evolving best practices, as well as how to incorporate apprenticeship opportunities into CBE programs.In response to survey feedback from attendees in the first conference, the format of the Second Biannual ACE-IT Conference has been expanded to include more intermediate and advanced topics on CBE course and program development, evaluation, and improvement. New policies concerning SACS accreditation of CBE programs; course scheduling, faculty loads, and faculty compensation models; new, cutting-edge best practices in integrating apprenticeship opportunities into CBE programs; understanding prior learning assessment (PLA) and how to apply it in a CBE program; and a special session on the role of academic coaches are only a few examples of additional sessions that will be offered during the Conference.Whether you are new to CBE or an experienced practitioner, the Second Biannual ACE-IT Conference has something for you. Who should attend: <ul><li>a. Colleges and universities who are new to competency-based education and interested in learning the basics of CBE course and program development and implementation. </li><li> b. Colleges and universities seeking to improve existing CBE courses and programs through the application of new and emerging best practices. </li><li>c. Colleges and universities interested in learning more about new accrediting policies and how they affect their CBE programs. </li><li>d. Colleges and universities interested in learning more about apprenticeship opportunities and how they can be combined with CBE programs. </li></ul>Symposium ContentThe symposium will include three types/levels.<ul><li>Beginners: the same presentations featured in the first symposium </li><li>Intermediate: cover the topics of academic coaches, new SACS policies, and integrating apprenticeship models to CBE programs. </li><li>Advanced: Final session on new and emerging best practices in CBE.</li></ul>All Times are Central Standard Time (CST)
