About this event

The Coalition Theater is thrilled to present its 7th Annual 2ND BEST FEST, running June 6-8, featuring improv, sketch, and stand-up comedy acts from all over the US, crammed into 3 magical nights at 2 different venues!

Workshop Description:

Playing a variety of colorful characters can be so fun and liberating! This workshop will help you use physicality and voice to create an array of characters. Whether you want to write those characters into sketches, expand your range for improv or sharpen your skills in acting, you can invigorate your imagination using experimentation and play.

Jiavani (she/him) is a queer, Filipinx+Black musical improviser, sketch actor, drag king and more. Trained in improv comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in Los Angeles and in acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Jiavani is an experienced performer and instructor. Jiavani can be seen onscreen in Between Two Ferns: The Movie and Dead to Me on Netflix, Reno 911: Defunded, and others. Voice acting credits include Digman!, We Baby Bears, Bugs Bunny Builders and many upcoming animated projects.
