What is Disc Golf?
Disc Golf combines the rules and etiquette of 15th century traditional golf with the 20th century flying disc (Frisbee®). It is a game of power and finesse, of risk and reward, and it is experiencing explosive growth. As a sport for the masses, disc golf teaches courtesy, honor, and respect while offering a lifetime of outdoor enjoyment. Just as in traditional golf, the players make their drive from the tee area on the first of 18 holes, throwing the disc with power and focus. Each successive throw must be made until the player completes the hole by getting the disc into the specialized basket. The fewer throws the better. Various discs are used for drives, approach shots, and putts. The golf vernacular is similar with disc golf but with a more 3- dimensional aesthetic than traditional golf.
