Forge Your Own Spoon with Marsha Sue Trattner of She-Weld.

Hit the iron while it is hot, and take this class to try your hand at blacksmithing! Each participant will transform a carbon steel rod into a useful and personalized spoon, using traditional blacksmithing techniques. No experience necessary! **Please wear 100% cotton t-shirt, jeans, (long pants preferred), and closed toed shoes or leather boots.**Attendees must be 16 years or older.ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:Marsha Sue Trattner is an Artist-Blacksmith based in Brooklyn and the Catskills. Her studio, She-Weld, produces custom architectural ironwork and home goods, and offers classes. Her work has been featured in the New York Times, Vogue Magazine, Real Simple, Popular Mechanics, and on NY1, Fox News, and CBS NewYork. Trattner has an M.F.A. in Sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design. She teaches Sculpture and Blacksmithing at the School of Visual Arts, NYC, and at the Guilford Art Center in Guilford, CT.
