The Yale Center for Collaborative Arts and Media (CCAM) presents architect Christina Ciardullo as part of our new ULTRA SPACE initiative

This virtual event is open to the public.CCAM presents a talk by architect Christina Ciardullo as part of ULTRA SPACE, our new initiative probing how we see, inhabit, interact with, and understand extreme environments.Christina Ciardullo, AIA is a Senior Architect, partner and founder of the award-winning space architecture firm SEArch+ (Space Exploration Architecture), as well as a Ph.D. Researcher at the Yale Center for Ecosystems + Architecture. With an undergraduate background in astronomy and philosophy, and a Masters of Architecture from Columbia University, Christina bridges a career between practice and research at the intersection of the natural sciences and the built environment, designing for a sustainable future for Earth and Space. She has worked in design positions ranging from New York City Planning, to NASA’s Habitability Design Center, to the award winning firms of Foster+Partners and Ennead Architects. At Ennead, she was on the competition team for the Shanghai Planetarium, the world’s largest astronomy museum, and led Ennead Lab to win Leading Innovation for ecological development in the Rockaways. She was the 2015–2016 Carnegie Mellon University Anna Kalla Fellow teaching interdisciplinary studios on closed loop systems, and the 2016 Buckminster Fuller Institute Fellow for Design Science. With her work at SEArch+ Christina lectures and writes on bridging design for space towards sustainable earth development through design pedagogy and by building synergistic design criteria.
