Iranian and Italian culinary instructors join forces to fundraise and support emergency food relief efforts in Ukraine.

<h2>About this event</h2><p>Inspired by Chef José Andrés, founder of  World Central Kitchen, who said “we should build longer tables, not higher walls”, chefs <a href="https://thecaspianchef.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Omid Roustaei</a> and <a href="https://cookingwithpaola.square.site/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Paola Albanesi</a> will teach a lively online cooking class to raise funds for Ukrainian refugees.</p><p>Food reminds us that nations have more in common than what divides them. A great example is the similar dishes known as Frittata in Italy and Kuku in Iran. Paola will prepare Frittata agli Spinaci (Frittata with spinach and Parmigiano cheese), while Omid will demonstrate Kuku Sabzi (fresh herb and barberry frittata). Tips and flips will be plenty!</p><p>All ticket proceeds and any additional donations will go directly to <a href="https://donate.wck.org/give/393234#!/donation/checkout" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">World Central Kitchen</a> to support families fleeing Ukraine and residents still remaining in the country.</p><p>We hope you can join us, cook along, and support this great cause.</p><p><strong>Online via Zoom, Sunday, March 20, 10 am to 11 am PST</strong></p><p><strong>Recipes can be accessed at the Attendee Event Page after registration.</strong></p>

<h1>The Chefs</h1><h3>Paola Albanesi</h3><p>An Italian foodie in Seattle, WA, sharing her love for sustainable, local, and seasonal food through Italian cooking classes.</p><p>Combining the Pacific Northwest food bounty with her knowledge of Italian regional food, she created her first cooking class in 2011 and has been enjoying every minute of it. </p><p>A member of IACP, International Association of Culinary Professionals, Paola teaches in-person and online cooking classes. Her classes are fun, engaging, and warm, rich in stories about food and her Italian upbringing.</p><p></p>

<h3>Omid Roustaei</h3><p>Omid Roustaei, also known as The Caspian Chef, is an Iranian-American psychotherapist, a regular contributor to <a href="https://www.thespruceeats.com/omid-roustaei-5217822" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"><em>The Spruce Eats</em> </a> and <a href="https://www.thekitchn.com/authors/omid-roustaei" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"><em>The Kitchn</em></a><em>,</em> Seattle-Isfahan Sister City Board Member, and culinary activist.  Omid is passionate about sharing Persian culture and traditions through food and story-telling. </p><p>His mission is to spread awareness of Persian culture and cuisine, which he does by writing his <a href="http://www.thecaspianchef.com" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">blog</a>, teaching online and in-person cooking classes, and through his work with SISCA. </p>
