<a href="https://pioneerworks.org/series/supper-club" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Pioneer Works Supper Club</a> is a dinner series created to celebrate local chefs as culinary artists, and serve as a community gathering around a unique dining experience.This edition of Supper Club will feature an exceptional seasonal meal by Eric See, Chef and Owner at Ursula in Brooklyn, alongside wine pairings crafted by Pauline Lhote, Director of Winemaking at Chandon.For this special evening, guests are invited to partake in a celebration of a New Mexican Harvest centering the Three Sister Crops: beans, corn and squash, and the iconic New Mexican chile pepper. Each wine pairing selected by Pauline will capture the brightness and vibrancy of See’s cuisine, evoking New Mexico’s history as the oldest wine grape-growing region in the country.Please note: This dinner will be outdoors at communal tables and will follow all current COVID safety guidelines.Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, Eric See is a trained pastry chef and the chef/owner of James Beard Best New Restaurant finalist, Ursula, a New Mexican-inspired cafe and bakery in Brooklyn, NY. Working in restaurants and hotels all through high school and college, he made a bold jump to continue to pursue his passion by moving to New York City 12 years ago, first interning for Karen Demasco at Locanda Verde before moving on to working in event production and catering, where he made a splash decorating and designing cakes, bite-sized sweets, and elaborate immersive dessert experiences for the likes of Infinity, Atlas Obscura, Dior, Beyoncé, and Fenty Beauty.Since opening Ursula, both his food and community activism have been applauded by the industry near and far, being awarded a StarChefs Rising Star Community Chef Award in 2020, ad one of Bon Appetit’s Heads of the Table in 2021, recognizing leaders in the industry for their positive impact on the hospitality industry and his work within the queer food community.As Director of Winemaking at Chandon, Pauline Lhote is responsible for every part of the winemaking process from grape to glass. To say that Pauline, who grew up in France, is passionate about wine - bubbles in particular - is an understatement. At just 14 years old, she told her parents she wanted to be a winemaker, and specifically that she wanted to make sparkling wine.Chandon is LVMH’s sparkling-wine Maison, founded in 1959 by Robert-Jean de Vogüé, a pioneer with the vision, courage and drive to redefine the category and craft exceptional sparkling wines in unexpected lands. Now spanning four continents, Chandon has wineries in Argentina, California, Brazil, Australia, China and India, making ours the largest sparkling vineyard worldwide and the only domain on which the sun never sets. Drawing on a collaborative network of sixteen winemakers of seven different nationalities, Chandon stands for new terroirs, innovative methods and an ever-curious outlook that happily unites our diverse lands and people.
