Western Cuyahoga Audubon is a chapter of the National Audubon Society based in Cuyahoga County in Northern Ohio, USA. WCAS seeks to connect and educate the public and conserve natural habitats for the sustainability of all bird species.

Learn about birds at the University of Akron Field Station!

Join us as we welcome Dr. Lara Roketenetz, Manager of the University of Akron Field Station located on the Bath Nature Preserve, in her discussion on the importance of ornithological outreach for their target audiences. Some of the varied projects that focus on birds at the Field Station include the 2021 publishing of the Bath Bird Blitz Book, the future implementation of a Chimney Swift tower (designed with local artists, Benitez-Vogl), bird-themed nature walks, and a college-level class focused on the investigation of an antique, taxidermy bird collection donated to the University in the early 1900s (a natural history mystery!). Excellent ways in which birds are brought to a wide audience.WCAS members will receive the meeting link the week of the meeting.
