This case describes a patient in which incentives were used with a patient being treated with long acting injectable buprenorphine.

<h2>Motivating Change: Modified Application of Contingency Management in Medical Treatment of SUD</h2><h3>Increasing motivation for adherence to treatment regimens is a common concern for patients who need to change their health behaviors. The use of contingency management is one approach to improving patients&#x27; health outcomes by rewarding desired behavior. In this case, we will explore an adapted form of contingency management with a patient who is being treated for opioid use disorder with long acting injectable buprenorphine.</h3>Target Audience: Health professionals who work with patients who use drugs.Faculty: Benjamin Cocchiaro, MD, MPHLearning Objectives: Describe a patient case in which incentives were used with a patient being treated with long acting injectable buprenorphine.FEE: There is no fee for this program.
