Since 1973,Self Help Graphics & Art(SHG)has produced more than 2,000 art print editions, including 62 Professional Marking Program ateliers and exhibitions all over the world. The organization remains dedicated to the production, interpretation, and distribution of prints and other art media by Chicana/o and Latinx artists; and its multidisciplinary, intergenerational programs promote artistic excellence and empower community by providing access to working space, tools, training and beyond. Join us for our monthly Beyond the Press (artist in residence) open studio with Kalli Arte at Self Help Graphics & Art.

Self Help Graphics &amp; Art invites you to stop by our Open Studio and meet Kalli Arte, our Beyond the Press resident artist. The open studio takes place on the 3rd Thursday of the month from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Self Help Graphics &amp; Art. Our Open Studio experience is an opportunity to engage with the artists, ask questions and see their work in progress. Limited space is available. RSVP today!Kalli Arte is formed by self-taught artists and printmakers Adriana Carranza and Alfonso Aceves from Boyle Heights.Beyond The Press invites one interdisciplinary artist to create a new body of work over the course of a year. The work created during the residency will culminate with an exhibition in SHG’s 1,200 square foot gallery space. Artists are selected through a nomination process and by invitation only. Once an artist is nominated, they are contacted and invited to complete an online application and submit work samples.Coming soon: Kalli Arte&#x27;s Beyond the Press Culminating Exhibition, Sueños Real, opening Saturday, July 23 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. The exhibition will be on view from July 23-September 23, 2022.
