12th Annual Women In Technology Awards Presentation Ceremony & Reception

Recognizing women who have contributed significantly to advancing their industry technologically -- or who show great promise of doing so -- the Women in Technology Awards support the National Association of Broadcasters Leadership Foundation's <a href="https://www.nabfoundation.org/programs/technology-apprenticeship/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Technology Apprentice Program</a>, which trains, informs and recruits a diverse workforce that meets the emerging technology and engineering needs of the broadcasting community.Proceeds will go to UNHCR's Ukraine Emergency Fund.

Judy Parnall, Head of Standards and Industry &amp; Chair, EBU Technical Committee - Leadership Award 2022Judy is an experienced broadcast technology professional in a leadership role with a wide knowledge of broadcast and media production technology, with a specific focus on the interface between the technology and the business. She manages the BBC’s technical influencing strategy in industry and standards groups. This looks across our participation in over 35 international groups of all size which are relevant to the media industry. Since 2018 she has chaired the European Broadcasting Unions Technical Committee, leading the technical strategy for the Union which represents 73 public service media companies from across Europe and North Africa. This includes setting the innovation strategy and bringing together media research labs to scale up innovation by collaborating on the cutting edge. She also participates in the technical committee of the World Broadcasting Committee and regularly speaks on the strategic direction of media technology across the globe and liaises with other key industry players across the globe to promote the work.

Sharri Berg, President, Fox Weather &amp; COO, News Operations, Fox Television Stations - Leadership Award 2022 Sharri Berg joined Fox News Channel (FNC) at its inception in 1996 and currently serves as the President of Fox Weather, Fox News Media’s ad-supported streaming weather service. She is also the Chief Operating Officer of News &amp; Operations for Fox Television Stations (FTS). Throughout her tenure with Fox, Berg has spearheaded multiple innovations in newsgathering, including the launch of the ground-breaking newsgathering consortium between Fox, ABC &amp; CBS, known as Network News Service (NNS), which she continues to oversee. She later replicated this venture on the local television level, developing the business model and launching the Local News Service (LNS), partnering with other local stations for helicopter and newsgathering in 13 major markets. She continues to manage Fox’s Affiliate News Service, News Edge, which provides all news content to 180 Fox affiliates.Additionally, Berg created the Fox News Multimedia Reporter Training Program, a two-year hands-on development program for aspiring journalists which she will also continue to run as it enters its 10th year. Many of the program’s graduates are currently FNC, Fox Business, Fox News Edge and Fox O&amp;O station correspondents across the country.A 30-year Fox Corp and News Corp veteran, Berg began her career with WNYW-TV as a sales assistant. She graduated from American University in Washington, D.C. with a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism.

Kelly Abcarian, EVP, Measurement and Impact, NBCU - Futurist Award 2022Kelly Abcarian is Executive Vice President, Measurement &amp; Impact, Advertising &amp; Partnerships at NBCUniversal. Abcarian spearheads the company's rapidly accelerating cross-platform and full-funnel measurement capabilities, leading innovation from impressions to impact at a local, national and global level across NBCUniversal's One Platform. Abcarian is an experienced executive with almost two decades of media and technology leadership in developing solutions for television, digital and CTV/OTT content and advertising platforms. Prior to joining NBCUniversal, she most recently served as GM of Nielsen’s Advanced Video Advertising Group, where she led the company's addressable initiatives including the strategic acquisitions of several key players within the space. Prior to that, Abcarian led Nielsen’s global audience measurement product portfolio where she was responsible for the creation of Nielsen’s Total Audience Product suite, along with the development of Digital Ad Ratings for CTV. Abcarian held leadership positions at various leading technology and professional services companies, including Oracle, Siebel Systems and Arthur Andersen, and is a highly awarded industry leader having been named a Cynopsis Top Woman in Digital, Woman to Watch and Wonder Woman in Streaming by Multichannel News, an OUTstanding Ally; and a Top 100 Diversity MBA Executive Leader. Throughout her career, Abcarian has devoted herself to diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts as well as lifting up the LGBTQ+ community through allyship, from helping lead PRIDE activations to lobbying for new, more inclusive HR policies.

Anupama Anantharaman , Vice President, Product Management, Interra Systems - Futurist Award 2022Anupama Anantharaman is a digital TV industry professional based in Silicon Valley, California, with over 20 years of experience in video compression, transmission, and OTT streaming. Anupama started her career as a software engineer at Compression Labs – a pioneer in MPEG-based digital video – developing videoconferencing systems. Subsequently, she held product management and business development positions focused on internet based video communications. Now, as Vice President of Product Management at Interra Systems, Anupama leads marketing activities for the company’s solutions, including product definition, product launches, strategic selling, and forming technology alliances for video QC, monitoring, and analyzer products.

Diane Strutner, Founder and CEO of Datazoom - Women to Watch Award 2022Previously, Diane worked in the video analytics space at NPAW, a video intelligence platform. In her role as the VP of Sales, Diane was focused on closing business with leading broadcast, media and telco companies around the world while building out and leading their global sales org.Diane’s career has been spent in international sales and sales leadership roles at startups in the online advertising and video streaming industry. She lived and worked in Barcelona, Spain before moving back to the US to start Datazoom.

Kylee Peña, Manager, Creative Technologies Program Management, Netflix - Women to Watch Award 2022 Kylee Peña is a Los Angeles-based media and entertainment technology polymath who loves enabling people through design thinking, creative problem solving, and storytelling. She currently manages the Program Management, Technology &amp; Standards Team for Production Innovation at Netflix. With over thirteen years of experience in the industry, she has dozens of credits across television and film as both a technical and creative professional.Kylee is a prolific community organizer and advocate for underrepresented talent across media and entertainment. She is active with SMPTE, serving as 2022-2023 Hollywood Region Governor and a former Programming Chair for the Annual Technical Conference. Kylee has also been published in the SMPTE Motion Imaging Journal, including serving as Guest Editor for the November/December 2021 issue. Outside of media technology, she serves in a leadership position with Junior League of Los Angeles, an organization that supports the development of women leaders. Kylee also founded and leads The Second Act Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps women over 30 enter new STEM careers.
