Help Me Grow Inland Empire is creating a community-driven early identification and intervention system that aligns and strengthens existing resources in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. We are dedicated to helping families take charge of their children's healthy development, every step of the way. Our diverse population is full of rich cultures, and not only do we want to foster culturally informed practices in our own work, but we want other providers in our area to have the tools to do so as well. Learn at lunch with leading experts in equitable early intervention practices as we reimagine a new future for children.

Join us for part three of our three-part Meeting the Moment series exploring critical approaches to support healthy early childhood development in these current times.In this 60-minute learn at lunch event, we will hear from Dr. Dolores Subia BigFoot, who will explore:<ul><li>How historical traumas have shaped the way we view children, how we take care of one another, and how we define “child well-being”</li></ul><ul><li>Four cultural teachings that are rooted in Indigenous wisdom that can be shared with all families to support abuse prevention, help children with self-regulation, and navigate transitions </li></ul><ul><li>Understanding of how practitioners from different disciplines can weave these wisdoms and practices into their work with families and children </li></ul>Then you will get to ask her your important questions in a 10-minute Q&amp;A session.Dolores Subia BigFoot, Ph.D. is a child psychologist by training and works now as a Presidential Professor who directs the Indian Country Child Trauma Center within the Center on Child Abuse and Neglect at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. She has directed Project Making Medicine, a clinical training program to train mental health providers in the treatment of child maltreatment using culturally-based teachings with the Children&#x27;s Bureau since 1994. She was instrumental in directing the cultural adaptations of four evidence-based child treatment protocols for the Indian Country Child Trauma Center when it was established in 2004. In 2020, Dr. BigFoot was awarded the national Suicide Prevention Resource Center from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to provide support and assistance to suicide prevention programs across the country.__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Please join us throughout this spring for the opportunity to hear from leaders who are shaping equitable and innovative approaches to meet the moment for our youngest children as we collectively work to heal from the past two years of the pandemic and support their healthy development.This three-part series will explore ways to:<ul><li>Adapt early childhood interventions to be culturally-centered for children and families</li><li>Navigate the collective trauma of the pandemic and differentiate between trauma and developmental delay in young children</li><li>Foster resilience with families to prevent and reduce abuse and strengthen parent-child attachment and child development</li></ul>
