The Lit & Luz Festival of Language, Literature, and ArtBegan in 2012 (unofficially) with the release of the fully translated—Spanish/English—MAKEMagazineissue 13, "Intercambio/Exchange." In 2014 the Lit & Luz Festival was launched from those pages and ever since has produced yearly events in Mexico City and Chicago, with writers and artists from Chicago, Mexico, and beyond.MAKE Literary Production’s sixth annual Lit & Luz Festival of Language, Literature, and Art, themed "Movement" is an ambitious exchange between Mexico City and Chicago. The week-long festival takes place at over a dozen arts venues and universities throughout Chicago, October 12th-19th. It concludes at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago with our signature event, the “Live Magazine Show." The following February, a similar series of events are held in Mexico City.We are honored to welcome inspiring authors, artists, and arts professionals from Mexico to Chicago. Art and language are key to understanding culture and community, and the cultural exchange between the United States and Mexico. With events such as Lit & Luz, we hope to strengthen the relationship between the two countries, and in particular, to increase the distribution of literature and art from Mexico for Chicago audiences and beyond.

<h1>El Live Magazine Show: Estructura</h1>Experience the Live Magazine Show, Lit &amp; Luz’s signature celebration. Each year, Lit &amp; Luz supports the creation of new collaborative artworks between writers, visual artists, and musicians from Chicago and Mexico. In the months leading up to the festival, teams of participating artists from the two cities work remotely to co-create a performance incorporating their respective mediums. The pieces are presented during the show in both Spanish and English and they often explore the relationship between the languages, art forms, and cultures of the United States and Mexico.Vive el Live Magazine Show, la celebración principal del Festival Lit &amp; Luz. El tema del festival de este año es “Estructura” y considera las estructuras físicas, políticas y sociales que nos habitan y nos rodean. El festival, en formato híbrido, tendrá lugar del 8 al 12 de marzo con más de una docena de eventos gratuitos y bilingües. A lo largo del día, el festival presentará programas virtuales, incluyendo un evento de apertura con un amplio rango de participantes y temas. Por la noche, el festival ofrecerá programas en persona en foros de Ciudad de México. El evento principal del festival, el Live Magazine Show, será presentado el 12 de marzo en colaboración con El Museo Universitario del Chopo. En este programa, artistas residentes de México y Estados Unidos debutarán en dueto piezas colaborativas multimedia en las que trabajaron durante los meses anteriores.
