If this applies to you, please send a message to us at hello@theexpatwoman.com<h2>Together we can forge women’s equality and build and advance women leaders.</h2><h2>Collectively we can all #HackTheBias.</h2><h2></h2>Since 2016 The Expat Woman has been addressing the gender gap in hackathons and encouraging women to get involved in tech and create innovative tech projects by hosting all-women hackathons.Over 1000 women with both coding and little to no coding experience, ranging in age from 18 to 65+ have worked in teams to develop solutions to various challenges.Calling all coders, aspiring entrepreneurs, designers, project managers and anyone interested in building an app, website or game to join us in creating projects around helping break the gender bias and building women leaders. You do not have to have a coding background to participate<h2></h2><h2>Who can participate and what is the commitment? </h2>👉 You do not need to have a coding or tech background to participate.👉 You do not need to be an expat to participate.👉 You do not need to have a team to register for the hackathon. We will help our participants form teams.👉 You do not need to have a project idea to participate in this hackathon. However, if you do have a project idea, you will have an opportunity to share it with the rest of the hackathon participants.👉 As this is a global hackathon with women in different time zones, working full-time at work or at home, you do not have to be available or be online 24/7 from March 22nd to March 31st to participate. Your team and you can work out a schedule and tasks that work for everyone.<h2>Why participate in this hackathon?</h2>This virtual hackathon for women from across the globe will take you through the process of pitching an idea, creating a team, collaborating and communicating, to building your product, managing your project, to marketing and pitching your final product in a welcoming, safe and supportive community.<h2>Who should participate</h2>Our All-Women Hackathon is open to women across the globe. Work in teams online in the comfort of your home. No coding experience is required to participate in this hackathon. We will have mentors who can assist you with your projects virtually.Rookie: You have never participated in a hackathon and are curious to see what all the hype is about. Build a functioning MVP ready for immediate use. OR 2. Develop a prototype concept for an application that can later become a functioning product. Your projects will be judged by a panel of industry experts focusing on the following criteria. FAQ1. Who can participate?The hackathon is open to women and anyone who identifies as a woman from anywhere in the world.2. How many people can participate on a team?A minimum of theee and a maximum of five members.3. Can I bring my own team?Yes. You have to have a minimum of 3and a maximum of 5 members. Each of them will have to purchase a ticket.4. I do not have a coding background and have never participated in a hackathon. Can I still participate?You do not need a coding background or hackathon experience to participate. Projects also often need people with diverse backgrounds including designers, project managers, business backgrounds and more. We will also have talks, workshops, and mentors to help you with your project. You need to have the interest, the enthusiasm and willing to put in the hard work and collaborate with your team to build your project.5. When can I start working on my project?After participants pitch their ideas, the next two days are spent building teams . To keep the playing field fair, we ask teams not to begin building March 24th when all the teams are created. If your project is an upgrade to an existing project, please check with us beforehand.6. Do I need to have an idea for a project to participate?No. You don't. If you do have an idea, you will pitch/share it before the team creation starts on March 24th. If you have a total of three people including you, you can more forward with your project. If you don't have three people, you would need to join another team.7. How will we receive updates from the organizer during the hackathon?You will receive emails daily or as needed with updates. There will not be any slack channel. 8. How will we communicate with our team?You can create a slack channel for your team and also communicate through whatsapp, zoom or emails.

Terms of Participation Agreement:You agree that you are responsible for any accidents or damages that you cause. You also agree to not hold The Expat Woman, or any of the event supporters liable for any loss, damage, injury, or any other unforeseeable incident.By Participating at the event, you grant The Expat Woman permission to capture photo/video of the event.By registering for this event, you also consent to receive email communication from The Expat Woman and its programs about events and updates that may interest you.Tickets to this event are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend, you have the option of giving it to a friend or team member to attend in your place.
