Musical performances by undergraduate ensembles, a cappella groups, and thesis performers.

Yale Concert Band, Thomas C. Duffy, Music Director. “The Planets” by Gustav Holst (trans. Christian Janssen), featuring new graphic projections by Camilla Tassi ’22 and John Horzen ’24 – students at the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale University – and original visual art by Mikayla Johnson Yale College ‘24. With special guest The Elm City Girls&#x27; Choir, Rebecca Rosenbaum, Music Director.Each planet in Holst’s most popular work is named after a Roman god, and each movement – from ‘Mars: The Bringer of War’ to ‘Neptune: The Mystic’ – is imbued with an aspect of the human experience. In this exciting new multimedia collaboration between the Yale Concert Band and projection designers at the David Geffen School of Drama, each movement is paired with a visual exploration of the divine beings they were named for, creating a concert experience that humbly asks the question: what does it mean to be human?
