Space and science enthusiasts can explore the universe with leaders in the field at our Astronomy Nights. Veterans and military families are invited to explore the museum without the crowds during programs designed especially for them.

<h1>ASL-Interpreted Presentations During Kids Week</h1><p><a href="https://www.intrepidmuseum.org/kidsweek" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Kids Week</a> is back, and moving full STEAM ahead! Children of all ages and interests will learn about science, technology, engineering, arts and math through fun-filled activities, live animal shows, hands-on workshops, performances, special guests and interactive demonstrations designed to educate and inspire.</p><p>Families and individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing are invited to attend for free on Saturday, February 19, for American Sign Language-interpreted presentations, demonstrations and workshops. Advance registration is required.</p><h2>Schedule</h2><h3>11:30am - Intrepid Museum Educator Talk: Mars: NASA&#x27;s Journey to the Red Planet</h3><p>Join us as we present Mars as a mythological object, a cultural phenomenon, and a scientific endeavor. Discover how the Red Planet has captured our imagination, and what it means for our future.</p><h3>Noon - Intrepid Museum Education Demonstration: Airheads: The Science of Flight</h3><p>Explore the science behind aviation in this demonstration about how things fly!</p><h3>1:00pm - Presentation by NASA Astronaut Victor J. Glover, Jr.</h3><p>Learn about life in space from NASA Astronaut, Victor J. Following the City of New York’s <a href="https://www1.nyc.gov/site/doh/covid/covid-19-vaccines-keytonyc.page" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Key to the City</a> mandate, all visitors ages 5 and older will be required to show proof they have received two vaccine doses (except for those who have received the one dose of the Johnson &amp; Johnson vaccine), as well as identification, before entering the Museum. Please bring proof and ID with you to the program. Please review the FAQ below for a list acceptable forms of proof of vaccination and ID.</p><p></p><p>More details about health guidelines and policies will be sent to all registrants ahead of the program, along with the pre-visit materials. In the meantime, learn more here: <a href="https://www.intrepidmuseum.org/onboard-with-safety" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">intrepidmuseum.org/onboard-with-safety</a>.</p><p></p><h3>FAQs</h3><p><strong>What will be accepted as proof of vaccination and of identification?</strong></p><p>All visitors 5 years of age and older must provide proof of two doses of vaccination (except for those who have received the one dose of the Johnson &amp; Johnson vaccine) against COVID-19, as well as identification, before entering the Museum. </p><p>The following will be accepted as proof of the receipt of vaccination:</p><ul><li>A CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card from the jurisdiction, state or country where the vaccine was administered that reflects the person’s name, vaccine brand and date administered (or a digital or physical photo of the card);</li><li>A New York City COVID Safe Pass (available to download on Apple and Android devices);</li><li>A New York State Excelsior Pass</li></ul><p>Identification means an official document bearing the name of the individual and a photo or date of birth. Examples of acceptable identification include, but are not limited to:</p><ul><li>Driver’s license</li><li>Non-driver government ID card</li><li>IDNYC</li><li>Passport</li><li>School ID card</li></ul><p><strong>Are facemasks required?</strong></p><p>All visitors age 3 and up will be required to wear masks in indoor spaces within the Museum complex. Vaccinated visitors will be permitted to remove their masks in outdoor spaces such as the pier and flight deck.</p><p><strong>Do you have additional ASL-interpreted programs during Kids Week?</strong></p><p>Yes! ASL interpretation will also be offered on Wednesday, February 23, and Saturday, February 26. Families and individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing are invited to attend for free  with advance registration.
