Learn how to bicycle for transportation in your everyday life!

This is one of the most comprehensive bike classes being taught right now in the United States and it is absolutely free! This 3-hour online classroom session will cover basic and advanced bicycle riding techniques, and dig deep into topics like:<ul><li>The structure of a bicycle including components and mechanics</li><li>Fitting your bicycle correctly</li><li>Materials and gear to bring on a bike ride</li><li>How to ride in almost any road situation</li><li>Safe habits for group riding</li><li>Riding in all weather conditions</li><li>Riding at night</li><li>Long distance touring</li><li>How to ride on highways</li><li>and more. </li></ul>This class is open to adults 18 and over. No bike or helmet are required.This class is the pre-requisite for taking Smart Cycling Part 2 (On-Bike), where we put into practice what is learned in the classroom. Taking Part 2 is highly recommended, as hands-on practice is critical to successful learning!This class is provided to the public for free with funding from 2016 Measure B courtesy of VTA and Santa Clara County Public Health.
